We have loved her time at her preschool, and to be honest, I’m sad to see it come to a close! It’s been such a blessing dropping her off with people who loved her (and knew her so well!) and with kids we’ve come to know and love. I’m sure I’ll feel the same way about school, but it’s been a special 5 years.

She looked SO big in her cap and gown!

Her Nene sent her a dancing singing graduation puppy, and it was quite a hit with her friends before the ceremony!

Sweet little friends! Makenzie, Piper, Beau, Remi (see that hip pop?!) and Millie

Tristan and Remi have been together since they were babies!

This is a screen grab from our video, but we were so proud of Remi for doing the welcome for the evening. The kids also sang some songs and showed off what they’ve learned (days of the week, months, continents, some presidents, state capitals and more!)

They had some sweet refreshments for us afterwards as well!

We loved everyone there who was supporting our girl. We were so very proud of her!

Of course the grandmas were there!

My bestie Brandy has loved Remi since she was in my tummy- and it was special to have her there.

Our sweet neighbor Michael came to support as well! He’s always so kind to Remi and the best neighbor!

Tyler’s aunt Tracey came to watch….

Along with her daughter Morgan. Remi was excited to have a cousin there.

We didn’t get a picture with most of her teachers, but we had to take a picture with this sweet lady. She’s been around the daycare since Tyler was a boy- and Remi has loved her! Miss Velma helps with lunch and naptime, and she’s a gem!

It was a fantastic night celebrating our growing kiddos!

Spring Flings /spring-flings/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=spring-flings /spring-flings/#respond Wed, 11 May 2022 11:59:00 +0000 /?p=18346 We’ve had some fun things pop up this spring!

One of the most special was Remi’s school Mother’s Day luncheon. They had it a week early (since their Graduation was Mother’s Day week), and it was so sweet. For starters, Remi wanted to match me, so we wore matching leopard and black pants. Then, as she got ready, she gave me her little crown ring so I felt special.

They had a sweet little program for us, where I did cry happy tears as she sang a “Happy Mother’s Day” song to me. We ate lunch at the sweetest little tables. Her school goes all out. They had made us crafts with their handprints, set tables with flowers and tablecloths, and served us a precious lunch.

That evening, we snuck up to Fayetteville for the Popovich pet show. I had won tickets, and we took a little girl’s trip for dinner and a show. The show was so fun! Remi LOVED watching the dogs and cats and birds and pig and horse doing tricks.

That weekend, we got lots of rain (it felt like it rained for two weeks straight), but it was clearing up so we were able to hit up our town’s car show. Because of the weather, there weren’t food trucks or bouncy houses, but we did enjoy meeting people. In fact, Remi got to meet people who brought their baby goat and another with a baby raccoon! Random fun.

We went for brunch after the car show and then got to work building her a new backyard playset. She’s outgrown the one we bought years ago, and we saw a good deal on this one.

It took Tyler and I two days and a total of 13 hours putting it together. We needed our moms’ help for a bit with some of the big pieces (the roof and the swingset legs), but I’m proud of how we got it all put together.

And Remi LOVED it!

Meeting Cousin Hudson (FINALLY) /meeting-cousin-hudson-finally/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=meeting-cousin-hudson-finally /meeting-cousin-hudson-finally/#respond Mon, 09 May 2022 12:46:00 +0000 /?p=18332 Our cousin Kelsey had her second baby when my dad died. In fact, it was a joy in between the funeral and our family lunch to hear that the baby was a HE!

But then we had sicknesses and travel, and we just didn’t get to meet the little guy for a while.

But we met up for a picnic at the park to snuggle Hudson and play.

He’s the sweetest little guy who looks just like big sister.

He was a little hungry by the time Remi stopped to hold him.

We brought scooters and Remi and Hattie loved playing together. They also enjoyed the playground until it was time to go.

Life gets busy, but I just couldn’t let any more time go by before we met our newest baby cousin!

Registering for Kindergarten! /registering-for-kindergarten/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=registering-for-kindergarten /registering-for-kindergarten/#respond Wed, 04 May 2022 12:52:00 +0000 /?p=18326 The time has come to enroll Remi in Kindergarten!

She was a little confused about the process. She wanted to see her classroom or meet her teacher…but the enrollment was at the administration office. She did get to meet some teachers, but we don’t know who will be her teacher. Heck, right now, we don’t know which elementary school she will attend. We are zoned for the one WAY across town and have applied to school choice to the closer one.

We got there, did some paperwork, and then it was time for her assessment. She was excited to see a familiar face. Miss Jessica works at our church, and she did Remi’s assessment. She did great (at least what I heard)…they called Tyler and I away for more paperwork.

At the end, she got a little book that we read that night. It talked about things like music and art and PE and story time….and she was like “Wait? It’s not all paper work?” She got even more excited then knowing that FUN stuff awaits at kindergarten!

She’s going to love school. She’s growing up, and while it’s bittersweet, she’s ready. I just don’t know if kinder is ready for her!
